You get our people on the phone regularly, or you meet them. But who are they really? What is their background, their enthusiasm? Time for a look behindthee scenes. This time: Bram Huvenaars. 'All my passion matches my work'
Bram Huvenaars (32) was born and raised in Zeeland. After a career at Bavaria in Lieshout, he started working at Bus Whisky over a year ago. 'Not only did I work with beer, but it is also my hobby,' Bram explains. 'Also at home I am a fanatic beer maker and I can enjoy a delicious beer of my own. So the vacancy of whiskey distiller was a perfect fit for me. I amthee official distiller othede famous Bus Whisky, but the de meantime I am also workingthen de beer of sister company De Heische Hoeve, which will go on sale in January.
We have raised enough money through crowdfunding to start the process and we are now inthee process of rebuilding. We have already bought a brewing installation that will allow us to make 160 liters at a time with a more professional boiler. I can use all my ideas here and that is alsthede beauty and uniqueness of this company. If you come up with a good story, you get athe de cooperation and freedom you need to carry it out. Lots of things happen and if you need help they are there for you. A beautiful way of working where no idea or opportunity is lost.
So we're going to put away our barrel aged beer and let it age on freshly emptied barrels from our whiskey distillery. That's really special. I can use my knowledge and expertise here, exercise my hobby and in addition to distilling whiskey, also enjoy working on a beautiful local beer, because of course it is brewed with ingredients from this region, "said the brewmaster.
